A favorite story.

One of my favorite devotionals tells this story:

Throughout life, I have walked next to Jesus, both our footprints in the sand.
But at one point, I looked back and only saw one set of footprints.
I turned to the Lord and asked "Why? Why have you deserted me?"
And his reply was:
"At that time, when you needed me most, I did not desert you,

I carried you."
